MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS

Ideanomics (formerly called Seven Stars Cloud), the New York City-based AI and blockchain services firm, said it acquired SolidOpinion, the marketing firm using AI. Terms weren’t disclosed.

In September last year Ideanomics acquired FinTalk, the secure messaging service, and said it was taking a 10% stake in Asia Times, the news service. Ideanomics also said it entered into a share swap with Liberty Biopharma, which changed its name to HooXi. The specific details of the swap were not disclosed.

VitalHub, the Toronto, Canada-based healthcare services firm using AI and blockchain, said it acquired The Oak Group.

BLOK Technologies, the Vancouver, Canada-based investment firm, said it is acquiring Sierra Blockchain.


FILINGS

Reebonz, the Singapore-based luxury online retailer, said it plans to raise USD 23m from the sale of an unspecified number of shares. The company is planning to use blockchain for authentication.


FUNDING

ThunderCore, the Sunnyvale, California-based blockchain company, said it raised USD 50m from investors including Pantera and Huobi.

PEOPLE

Diginex, the Hong Kong-based financial technology firm using blockchain, said it hired a nine-person team, led by Goldman Sachs alumni Will McDonough, to build out its US business.
