MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS

Squire Mining, the Vancouver, Canada-based company developing cryptocurrency mining chips, said it is acquiring cryptomining assets from BigFoot for CAD 60m (USD 45m).

FUNDING

CHAIN BASE, the Singapore-based gaming services company, said it has raised USD 50m from an initial coin offering.

ZenSports, the San Francisco, California-based sports betting company using blockchain, said it launched an up to USD 12m security token offering.

Other deals include Flipside Crypto and Sharing Economy said it is delisting from the Nasdaq.


LEGAL & REGULATORY

Boxer Floyd Mayweather and music producer DJ Khaled agreed to fines and to return money they had earned from promoting initial coin offerings, according to a statement from the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

A California district court ruled the SEC failed to adequately show Blockvest and its founder Reginald Buddy Ringgold were selling a security during an initial coin offering.


PEOPLE

Social Reality, or SRAX, the Los Angeles, California-based marketing company, said CFO JP Hannan is stepping down. CEO Christopher Miglino will oversee the company’s financial matters until a replacement is found.

SRAX is developing a blockchain where consumers can sell access to their personal data. The company didn’t say why Miglino was stepping down.

In August the company hired George Stella to run its packaged goods unit, SRAXshopper. His official title is vice president. Stella joins from Yieldbot, the digital advertising company.

Technovative, the Hong Kong-based AI, blockchain and cloud computing company, said it hired Wanhong Tan as CFO.
